About Blackjack
What Is Blackjack and Why Is It So Popular in Malaysia?
Blackjack is one of the longest-standing games in casino history, and its popularity shows no signs of fading — including among Malaysian players. At Chili88, we consistently find Blackjack to be one of our members' top choices, whether they're newcomers just getting into card games or seasoned veterans who've spent years refining their strategy.
What makes Blackjack so appealing is how straightforward its rules are compared to other casino games. Your goal is simple: get a hand total as close to 21 as possible — without going over — and beat the dealer's hand. Easy to pick up, yet full of strategic decisions that separate casual players from skilled ones. That's why Chili88 offers a wide range of Blackjack tables to suit players at every level.
At Chili88, all Blackjack games run on independently audited software with a certified random number generator (RNG). This means every card dealt is truly random and cannot be manipulated by anyone — including us. The return-to-player (RTP) rate for Classic Blackjack at Chili88 reaches 99.5%, making it one of the lowest house-edge games you can play online.
Basic Blackjack Rules Every Player Should Know
Before you take a seat at your first Chili88 table, make sure you understand these basic rules. Every player starts with two cards. Numbered cards carry their face value, face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10, and an Ace can be worth either 1 or 11 depending on your hand. After receiving your initial cards, you can choose to:
- Hit — request an additional card to increase your hand total.
- Stand — stand pat and wait to compare your hand against the dealer's.
- Double Down — double your original bet and receive exactly one additional card.
- Split — if your first two cards are of equal value, split them into two separate hands.
- Surrender — surrender and recover half of your original bet (available at selected tables).
If your card total exceeds 21, you "bust" and lose automatically regardless of the dealer's hand. If the dealer busts, all players still active at the table win. A natural Blackjack — an Ace paired with a 10-value card in your first two cards — typically pays 3:2, making it the most coveted hand in the game.
